Don’t get me wrong, I too at one point dressed up like Micheal with the leather jacket, zippers and one glove, but I don’t understand why millions of people of are stopping their lives to watch a memorial? Just the other day watching the Thriller, Beat It and Bad videos my boys were engulfed and even said, “whow, how did they do that way back then?” This statement came from and eight year old!! I guess I am now from “way back then.” When I stop to think about it, I know there are just the fans, like my wife, that have been intrigued, but some people are acting as if a natural disaster just killed thousands. Not trying to make fun of the death, but I am not sure that Micheal deserves all the hype…yes I said…it feels so liberating. Why is that in our culture the celebrity is praised more than the person who feeds the homeless, takes care of the elderly or teaches our children? In what other culture or time period could a person influence so many people and not have done a thing? Now, this is question much bigger than Micheal, go through the grocery store line and look at all the magazines all you see are stories about people who don’t really do anything. Bitter? Not at all, just want to thank all my friends that actually poor into developing peoples lives!!
